Scandinavian Files: DENMARK

Sunday, April 28, 2024

(15MAR24) This month marked my 5th year in the UK—and look how I celebrated it outside the country again! 😆 Pretty much because 1) I want to treat myself after passing the “Life in The UK” test which I hope will lead me to a better path and 2) Apart that I wanted a change of scenery, I wanted to use my Schengen visa before it expires. Hence, this happened; though, who would have thought that I had gone to Sweden’s frenemy?!

It feels great to tour another Scandinavian country; I actually had doubts on embarking a solo trip here owing to the fact that I had less preparations for it. I’ve said to myself that I’m just going to rely on my spontaneous instincts when I get there; Yet, Denmark is a breath of fresh air. The hygge has led me to enjoy and explore. So, here’s my 3-day itinerary to the 2nd happiest country in the world!

A TOUR-kish Delight (Part2)

Sunday, June 12, 2022

(30APR22) There’s often a side-staycation to another city in every Turkey visit, and the one that currently tops that list is Cappadocia (Kapadokya). Situated in central Anatolia, this region has an exquisite Stonehenge history given its valley rock views apart from its sunrise hot air balloon rides. It’s incomparable to the life in Istanbul, I should say. ;p

Let me share our 2 and a half day stay in this bedrock town. Yet, behind such Instagram-worthy attractions involved a lot of walking through slopes, hiking, and thrill.

A TOUR-kish Delight (PART 1)

Saturday, May 14, 2022

(28APR22) Merhaba! I went on a 5-day trip with friends to Turkey, one of the countries that boasts its border between Europe and Asia. It somewhat felt very different that I didn’t embark on my own this time alongside the realization that there are also cons in group travels. Nevertheless, I highly appreciated my squad for touring with me. ^^ Perhaps I might have gotten more used in planning things on my way that’s why the funny feeling came through. 😅

Anyway, this first part covers our whole preparation to travel over the “Land of Turks” and our stay in Istanbul---NOT the country’s capital but the heart of Turks’ tourist attractions.

COVID restrictions might have eased up to its limit in present time but here’s a friendly reminder to stay caution when travelling

Japan Tales: TOKYO! (part 3)

Sunday, January 27, 2019

My first travel happened too early and so does my comeback to Japan! This is for the reason that we want to experience the winter season. Thus, here we are in Tokyo! Several have been asking me if either Tokyo or Osaka is better--yet I CAN'T choose between the two! They are both lovely to visit with all the good food, shopping and attractions and I highly suggest to tour them separately as one or two days is not enough. Anyhow, Japan's capital is such a wide metropolis in which each town has its own unique theme. On this post, I will highlight briefly some of the cities that I went plus a few tips on how to travel savvy in this wonderful city. :)

Japan Tales: OSAKA!

Here goes my yearly travel in Japan! And this time,I fly to the Kansai region,Osaka! ;D

Nihao Hong Kong!

Friday, May 12, 2017

After 7 years, we're back in Hong Kong for the third time! Thanks to Fiesta Travel and Tours for our flight tickets :) We purchased it from a Travel Expo last February and their agency gave us a very good deal. However, we didn't go on a packaged tour anymore since we already went to places such as Disneyland and Ocean Park before. Our trip this time covers more on the Kowloon area in terms of sightseeing (and shopping haha!).

Macau for a Day,Takes the Money Away!

Monday, May 8, 2017

The second day of our trip covers a day tour in the 'Casino Capital of China',Macau! Well, I have been to Las Vegas last year and I surely believe my views would take a few comparisons. Though inspite of what is expected such as the casinos and each hotels' connecting malls, it is a must to explore the main square of this Portuguese-colonized country.

Random Musings

Friday, February 17, 2017

I wasn't telling about my activities lately apart from catching up on my travel posts.Generally I have been juggling over work and review all along. It was very difficult dealing with shifting schedules and going to review classes on most of my days off.I even have to cancel (again) my itenerary to the US this month! ;( So yeah, I'm bundled with my career priorities and hopefully ,it all ends soon! Anyhow I'm not really that workaholic since I still get to find time for leisure from online-shopping to movie marathons.I'm currently stoked on Lala Land and Fifty Shades Darker! And yeahp,I'll discuss that further later :)
A few weeks ago, I ordered a leather brown case for my Instax camera from @dealsonline.I bought it for P740 and it comes with a bunch of film stickers and a mini album.I was supposed to buy a film to them also but it was kinda expensive..though the films are very rare. You guys may want to check their online store for your Instax essentials. :) They also have their own app on Google Play for an easy-access to the store.

Here's a haul of my polaroid shots :)
Moving on with the movies, I have watched 2 big movies consecutively and the fangirl in me has risen again.Haha!Call me a bandwagon for watching "La la Land " 'cause it's a Golden Globe win.I became a fan of Emma Stone since then. She's so gorgeous that she and Ryan Gosling made a great pair on the film. I actually adore musical films like this that's why I really don't mind about the load of sing-and-dance scenes. My fav part was the moment when they were dancing on the mountain. The whole film's almost a 10/10 for me but the ending disappointed me (so I gave it an 8 instead). Yes, they didn't go on a happily ever after but the views can be split into 2 which can either be bittersweet or upsetting. It may be sad for Ryan to see her with another man after 5yrs of separation but on the other hand, it may be good seeing both of them successful to reach their dreams. Though in my opinion, it could've gone better if they were together. ;| As for FSD, I believe that my expectations were partially met! Well, it's good to see my Ana & Christian on the big screen again--and to see my favorite part of the series came in action was awesome. It's much better than the first since this was more captured from the book even most of the lines are taken there.Say,"I'm gonna be the boss' boss' boss?" But there are several twists from the movie which gives way to the final book,FSF.Hence,I can't wait for the final sequel next year! ❤️
These are just some of the activities that I've been going up for the past weeks. Sometimes I do take these as a way of distracting myself to move on from a past.'Cause yeah, even when that guy is a thousand miles away,my heart is still shattered from what he had done. But anyway, chickens will come to roost!
'til then!

Japan Tales: TOKYO! (Part 2)

Nov 4,2016: We had a whole day tour at Mt. Fuji courtesy of Sunrise Tours.I was very excited as I have high hopes of finally seeing snow there this time (well, apart from going on top of the mountain, haha). It was a 3hr bus ride from our hotel at Shinjuku and along the way, our tour guide shared a couple of facts about Mt. Fuji-san as what the Japanese calls it. A few facts that I could remember was that the mountain is surrounded by 5 lakes which you could see along the road.Another would be the fact that the mountain is also filled with Shinto shrines having this as the main religion in Japan. Hence, many would believe that climbing up there is a sign of good fortune. :) Moving on, we reached the 5th station at around 11am and the weather was lovely--sunny yet cold at zero degrees celsius!

Japan Tales : Fukuoka (part 1)

Saturday, August 15, 2015

This post has been very delayed for I've been soo busy over the past few weeks! Having a 16hr-duty once a week or a 4-days work was such a burden. But anyhow, this is gonna be a 3-part entry as I had my very first touchdown in Japan 2 months ago! :)

June 1:Hello Fukuoka!
Me and my mom had a 4-day vacay at Fukuoka where one of my relatives live. We stayed at Grand Hyatt hotel which is beside Canal City, one of the popular malls in town. The view from the hotel was quite lovely as the mall's buildings are very colorful. I bet you can't tour the whole mall for just one day! We just skimmed through the shops for now and took pictures (the tourist way! Hahaha).

welcome drinks from ze hotel! Haha isn't it so complete? ;D

There's actually a couple of photobooth stalls at the mall wherein it works like the Camera360 app. They call it "porikula" and it costs ¥400 per shot. How I wish we have this in Manila! This is so much fun to do with friends ;D The picture can also be sent on your e-mail via their website.

So we tried this particular booth since this is endorsed by my cousin,Elaiza Ikeda (the girl with the yellow bow) Then ta-dah!here's what we've got:

Then by night, we took a walk around Tenjin Central Park and had ramen for dinner-–yes,authentic ramen!! The service reminded me of Ramen Nagi; but of course, this one's a lot better! From eating in a ramen bar to having free servings of soup,it was all worth it costing ¥750.

I like how savvy it was to order through an automated machine. While, this is how the bar looked like..

the lovely night lights in Fukuoka.❤️
Then after that, we went to Don Quixote to buy make-ups and Japanese delicacies. This is where I started to appreciate the green tea kitkat. It was so delicious that I have to buy more than 4packs for home! :)) While for the cosmetics, i bought a lipstick from Chifure and a blush on. I also bought a pack of nail stickers which I'll be using on my next trip soon. ;)

to be continued..

The things that I've looked forward to.

Friday, October 31, 2014

My apologies for taking too long to post another entry this month. Like I said last time, I became busy with my training to the hospital that I applied to. I had my first 2 days of duty last Mon-Tues and it was good :) I was assigned in an Onco-Surgical ward. It was my first time to handle cancer patients as well---and a first time to handle foreign patients! But as a trainee and a first timer, all I did during the shift were clerk work.Though sometimes I get to assist my mentor staff with the procedures. So there goes my #dutyduties experience for now. My next training will be around next month so currently, I'm on a break ;D

Anyhow,I was still able to witness the things that I've been looking forward to inspite of the busyness in training.
