The Eras Tour 2024

Thursday, September 19, 2024

(17AUG24) I have joined the concert tour of the century and it was 100% worth it! Never have I watched a concert that was approximately 4 hours long and sang all of her hit songs. Taylor Swift has really justified her era!

I’m not really a die hard fan (and people would absolutely hate me for saying that I can’t even be called a ‘Swiftie’ ) but I adore her music—like whose teenage girl did not grew up nor can relate to her songs?! The way Taylor Swift dedicated her songs to her ex-lovers has moved and empowered a million people. So hats off to that! It was amazing to witness her tour and so, here’s to share my experience from it!

This might sound like a narrative but all thoughts are of my own ;)

ACCOMMODATION

Me and my friend lived a bit far from Wembley stadium so we decided to book a place within its proximity. However, the nearest that we got was about 30-40 minutes bus ride as most accommodations in Wembley at that time were very expensive. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant stay at Martel Guest House which is located in Golders Green.

Their deluxe suite is complete with its amenities which for me, should be given more than 3 stars. It felt like a classy Airbnb. Moreover, their place is situated in a quiet neighborhood which has good access to public transport and restaurants. Therefore, I highly suggest this for those who would like to have a weekend break and have a grip of living in North London.

PRE-CONCERT SHENANIGANS

Even from the very beginning, I had zero expectations of where we were situated at the concert. I had no idea if we are far from the stage, have seats or standing whatsoever. Although, it was our friend who booked the ticket for us and I chose the package but that was it; I was clueless besides knowing that we have a VIP ticket. Thus, we went extra early to Wembley just in case we needed to secure our space in the area.

As it was the 7th night concert, the whole Wembley area screams Taylor Swift. Her songs have been playing nonstop all over the area, tons of photo stops and a merchandise shop.

My concert OOTD—and it’s mandatory to state which era inspired the look and I guess I lived up with the glittery gold mix of ‘1989’/’Fearless’.

Thanks to Dianne for watching the concert with me! Actually, she is the true Swiftie.

I bought my usual t-shirt with the listed concert dates. I had the exclusive merch as part of the VIP package which was cool—but since I’m not much of a Swiftie (and it’s a lot of fan stuff), I decided to sell the postcards and mini posters which are still available. Please check out my Vinted shop for the items.

THE FRONT ACT: PARAMORE!!
Another reason why I really came for this concert is because Paramore is the front act! They are one of my favorite rock groups when I was in high school and of course, their music never gets old! Who wouldn’t be related to ‘Misery Business’?

Truth be told, I was holding down my tears when Hailey turned up the stage. Her poise just matches the way she is on their music videos. The head banging, scream type rock-n-roll gestures—the design is very RIOT. I’m glad she sang most of her classics.

…and after all this time, I’m still into you.

THE MAIN EVENT

First off, I knew nothing about the setlist nor watched any of my friends’ experience from the concert. Everything was a surprise for me so after that 2-minute countdown, I was stunned by her first act.

I got hooked on “Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince” after this performance. And there, she appeared at the very front of the stage! This is somehow the downside of our place even if we were at the very front of the right hand side; There are moments that we watch on her big screen. Though, I’d say that Swiftie did some fair shares on what side of the stage she performs.

When she got up close on our side, that’s when I got super stunned on her appearance. She’s certainly a natural American beauty! Plus, her attires per era is incredible. She really lived through her theme and took the audience down memory lane.

I loved how she performed “Fearless” in our spot! I had a video where she waved on our side so here I was sending back a finger heart.🫰🏻

Not only were her attires stood up but also, the choreography was amazing. It was colorful and very entertaining. I bet it felt like watching her music videos for real.

She looked like a Disney Princess in this outfit.✨

I know nothing about the "Folklore" era but this set-up is so pretty.

Of course, this concert will not be complete without Swiftie singing the full 10-minute version of “All Too Well”.

Likewise, I really enjoyed how she sang most of her hits. My top favorites include “The Man”, “I Knew You Were Trouble”, “Red”, “Style” and “Anti-Hero”. It was clever that she performed several of them in a medley.

Additionally, she has this segment where she gives a bonus performance and, on that night, she sang “I Did Something Bad” which I haven’t heard before but the crowd loves it. Some of the fans where we stood at said that they’ve been waiting for her to perform this for ages. So, I was impressed on how everyone was singing with it—in fact, all throughout the show, there was never a time that the audience did not sing. I suppose it’s another requirement to know the lyrics of each song (but wow! Haha😅). I googled the song thereafter and it’s another that I started to like; It’s from the “Reputation” album.

Another highlight of the show was her TTPD era performance! Although apparently, I knew little of her tracks there yet but I’m glad she sang “Fortnight” which is my fav in the album.

The black and white theme wasn’t so dull at all! Classic could be the perfect word to describe it.🤍

Then for her last act, she sang “Karma” with the glittery and colorful confetti (plus fireworks)

Overall, it was a spectacular show and I enjoyed it so much. I’m grateful to be part of the 92K audience of that night. And pretty much, I shall look forward to Taylor’s next era! Some people said that this might be her last but Taylor Swift is full of surprises! Please visit my Youtube Channel for my concert clips.

‘til then!
