This entry might come a little personal as this is my own year-in review. So welcome to my world, folks! Brace yourselves for this narrative post.
When I Was at My Lowest
Imagine that my tragedy happened at the very first month of the year; I tested positive for COVID in January.
Being part of the omicron community felt like having the worst type of flu for 5days. Although I got home isolation, my mental state was at my lowest with people avoiding myself in the house and the fact that my room felt like my prison cell. It was sad but it’s quite a blessing in disguise that I had it here during my vacation in the PH otherwise, my homesickness would have torn me in London.
On the other hand, another part that has tear me when I returned in London was the need to move in to a new property. From finding a house up to the last minute until wiring the adjustments to the new home has been the most adulting thing I have done here. I’m thankful to my former flat mate who has still stayed with me. Our place may not be as grand as our previous house but at least we didn’t end up being homeless! (believe me, we were almost close🤏🏻 to that point)
If I were true to myself, I am still in the midst of coping over the course of my stay in London this year. Homesickness leaped as my social circle whirled to a change and like romantic relationships, I think it’s evident that people really come and go.
The Promotion
I celebrated my 3 years of living in the UK last March. At the same time, I announced my new position as a senior staff nurse to my work. I was tied up with 2 offers before and it was quite a gamble of my decision. Nevertheless, I had no regrets because being a deputy taught me further to become a leader. Gaining that confidence boost is a strength but consequently, there are loads of responsibilities (which is why other people do not want to grab this post for its demands). I frequently get drained at the end of a shift but let’s face it: that’s the nature of a job no matter what role we have. Go by the saying that a place will never be called a workplace if it is filled with fun. Challenges will always be on its way, but may we all keep our head above water.
In Conclusion, BinJin Married(for real!)
In a span of this whole year, the BinJin fandom has reached 3 milestones: the wedding announcement, the pregnancy news, and the baby’s birth! WHAT MORE CAN A FANGIRL ASK FOR?! I did have my own precious moments when those took place: (all sources come from Yejinhand’s IG)
-I was in happy tears at work when the wedding announcement came on Feb. I did nothing on my break besides spamming my socmed and telling my close friends about it.
- (March 31) I woke up at 3am GB time to keep up with the wedding news. K-media certainly has its ways of sneaking in to private events but it really can’t be avoided. We were grateful with the fan service that was done no matter how blurry the videos and pictures were. Though, the paparazzi continued on their American honeymoon! I don’t engage in fan wars but lets be honest, the fandom would be dull without some newlywed gossips. But harassing them at the airport was a different issue.
My first time to send my own gifts for their wedding! Thank you to my BinJin friends and Everbloom for making this possible. I have another project coming up for baby Alkongie ;p
I hope these won’t be the last BinJin pics that we’ll be seeing them together! Words can’t express how much my heart fluttered when these got released. 💓
And of course, there are chibi renditions by yours truly! Superr thank you for everyone’s continuous support with my chibi arts! I had fun collaborations throughout the fandom alongside my small business art commission. Please visit @chibifiles for more of my Chibiart updates and art commissions!
This is definitely the peak of my fangirling era and like I always say, nothing beats in becoming a BinJin fan.🖤 I might become a silent fan from now as they go on with their parenthood lives but know that I will still create random chibis about them when I have the time (and inspo. Haha!)
A TOUR-kish Delight
This trip was the head start of my tour around the world this year and I was thrilled to share it with my friends. It took about 6 months to raise funds for this to make it realistic and I think the strategy was very effective.
Read my Turkey Travel Blog !
I know it’s really cool to look at tourist pics from Turkey and never in my wildest dreams that I would set foot in here! It was such an awesome experience in this whole new world.
My Summer-ventures
Thank goodness for travel therapy! I’ve been out and about for my whole 2nd half this 2022. It was a blast going on trips with friends, family or even just on my own yet it also went exhausting (both financially and physically) that I needed to take a break last September; Although I still went to some small side trips around England at that time. Haha!
The greatest flex is I went to the 3 countries that can be travelled via Eurostar from London St. Pancras. The heat was surely on! PS: my Paris/Brussels blog entry is coming up next!In the meantime, y'all can read my Amsterdam Travel Blog :)
My Birthday and Spontaneous Travels
Read the rest of my Europe travel stories HERE!
Even if I become a little bit sick on my birthday week, my travel plans still prevailed! Going to Germany and celebrated Oktoberfest was truly promising. Additionally, I am beyond grateful that I got to visit 2 of my favorite countries in Eastern Europe. Honestly, it was really just out of the blue when I decided to book tickets for these trips and luckily do I score good prices for it. I know 3-4 days is quite short but at least my day offs were well-spent! ;)
So that’s a wrap for my not-so-really good year. I did achieve a lot despite my shortcomings. Plus, I am thankful for the people (especially my family) who checks me in for my sanity. And lastly, superrr thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog. The feedbacks that I have been receiving in private were very overwhelming.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!🐰
Shoutout to all my fellow ’93 babies to claim that 2023 will be our year as we reach the third decade!
