I have never thought that I will STILL have the chance to watch Katy Perry inspite my very busy schedule ('career burnouts' perhaps); In fact, I was quite decided that I might really miss her concert this time 'cause I honestly couldn't afford the tickets even if i can save money for it after being on sale 5 months ago(yep,buying concert tickets on the first day is not my thing. I usually buy when it's about to be sold out!Haha!). I even slashed my idea of trying to get an M&G pass 'cause I'm losing my chances of purchasing a ticket.I joined several online contests as well but it brought me no luck. ;( Yet, coincidentally my day off from work landed on a Monday (April 2nd) since I was assigned to work during the Lenten holidays. So that whole time got me thinking: "should I go to her concert?"
Pardon me for a long foreword before I tell about the entire concert.This just means so much to me that in my language, it was 'biglaan at its finest'.Haha! Anyway, I already have my own duties on that day and none of it was to go to the concert. But apparently that time, I was scrolling for updates on the KatyCats' group until I saw people selling their tickets for a very cheap price!
I even posted my thoughts on Twitter that moment as I felt sick of having second thoughts of going to the event. However, I couldn't bring myself to pack my gym stuff anymore so my decision: I CANNOT MISS THIS CONCERT. To my mind, it'll be another 3yrs before she comes back here again so I'd go for it and tried to bargain the ticket.(nope,i didn't take that 7K offer.I bought it from someone else and I settled for a lowerbox A seat).I took the risk of commuting from my hometown to Mall of Asia for the first time alone and when I got there to meet the seller, I was shookt when he suddenly said "Miss,VIP nalang tong kunin mo ha" and from there I was somewhat out of my mind,I had another second thought that this might be a scam or something--but it's NOT!as in,oh my gosh...I'm gonna see Katy up front!!
I was so close from crying as it happened too fast; rather,medyo nawala lang ako sa sarili.Haha I'm not prepared!! But definitely,I have to enjoy this opportunity and thus,here we go with the concert proper! ;D
This is Katy Perry's 4th concert entitled "Witness The Tour" which cover songs about her vision, thoughts and opinions to the world. Likewise, this is why most of her props and costumes has this 'eye in the mouth' logo.
She sang 'Witness' as her opening act and unfortunately, she appeared at the very front of the stage as you can see on the video clip I took. From thereon, she sang a medley of her past hits and I love it!❤️
There are portions wherein KP tried to learn a few tagalog words as she sang "Hot 'n' Cold".She even called out a fan from the audience to help her out and it was a guy in his graduation suit! He was stoked but he managed to teach her very well by translating 'quiet' and 'I love KatyCats' in Filipino. Hence, he was such a lucky guy( if only I was in that direction! lol but Katy never really called out a girl on stage; it has usually been a guy for the past tours).
I gotta say,her back-up dancers have amazing costumes as well!
She also brought the left shark on the show!
Other highlights of her show includes her band that have celeb look alikes (I mean, I'd leave it up to y'all on who they resemble haha!), Fernando Miro who's one of Katy's popular back up dancers and at most times, her performance is filled with confettis! And mind you, they were quite worth the souvenir from pink/yellow stars,spades/diamond cut outs to this "Karma Coffee" receipts. Another freebie that the show gave was these eyeball-designed balls which I regret to grab (like as iiin! It already landed on my palms while she was singing her last few songs but it kept bouncing through the air until 'Firework' ended.Huhu!) So yeah, whatta night to remember.❤️

And here's my fav performance,"Swish Swish"! I believe this is where the eyeball souvenirs started to bounce on the audience.
"Firework" as the final act.There are literally firecrackers blasting on stage during that performance and it was awesome.The last time that she performed this during the Prismatic World Tour,we were provided with 3D glasses to see these ;D

I wanted to buy a Witness hoodie but unfortunately,it was very expensive (P2000/US$40).So yeah,I think my ticket will serve as another souvenir instead. ;)
Even if I wasn't still able to meet her in person, I'm still grateful for the chances that I took on this day. Who knows, maybe on KP5 that might really be it,right? Keep hoping! ;) Though for now I am really just happy that I've 'WITNESSed' my idol since 2009 once again.
