Jan.13,2016:my visa to London got APPROVED!!! :D
Feb.02: The journey to London begins!
first stop:Abu Dhabi,UAE
This is by far, the longest plane trip I've ever had---18hrs!And I never thought that being inside in a plane for that long was quite boring.Eat-sleep-watch-repeat.We rode through Etihad Airways which was really good but then I got tired eating their food as they serve halal diet (no pork but chicken and vegetables only).I can still remember what they served before---chicken curry bread, herb penne pasta, chicken biryani..well what a taste of the middle east!Being in Abu Dhabi for an hour and a half was interesting.Their souvenir shops sell stuffed camels, hookah, and golden lamps which are really cool!Too bad I didn't get to see the actual desert.Yet,I get to buy an exclusive Pandora charm there which only costs P700 if converted to Philippine peso. Now that's golden! :D So after 8hrs from UAE,we've finally reached the United Kingdom!!❤️
Touchdown Heathrow Int'l Airport!!
Feb.03: First nightlife in London celebrating the cold weather
We arrived during mid-afternoon as we head towards Holiday Inn located at Oxford Circus St.It was my first time to experience winter and the cold was very overwhelming. :) Plus going through the outskirts was such a fantasy. It's like those antique houses that they describe in classic books ❤️
I'd love to stay in that kind of apartment.so classy!
We had our first dinner at a Peri resto called Nando's.
Their chicken chicken looked similar to an 'inasal' in Manila comes with 4 different dips served with java rice and it is so delicious.
Then after that,we took a night stroll around the vicinity until...we couldn't handle the cold anymore.LOL.It gets colder when it's windy having said that it was 7 degrees celsius! So lets see how many layers of clothing shall I wear in the coming days...hahaha. ;p
It has been cold and windy, yet I still have a Haagen Daas in hand!Haha ;p
Feb.04: The London City Tour
It was a long day of freezing out but it was fun! Our hop-on/hop-off tour led us to different landmarks from Westminster to the Queen's home:Buckingham Palace!Though unfortunately, we weren't able to witness the changing of guards since it was drizzling and they only do it every other day.
And here it is,Buckingham Palace!here is a closer view of the gate
After that,we had lunch at Little Frankie's .
I was expecting to have a spaghetti sauce but this literally came up with just pasta and meatballs.Likewise, you have to mix it to get its taste unless it becomes bland.
Then a few blocks from it is the legendary Big Ben!❤️ Well it ain't just an ordinary grandfather clock. The structure is so lovely that we even took numerous pictures of it.Here's one of the closer pics that I had;most of it are posted on my Facebook account ;)
Near that place was Thames River Boats where we took on a cruise tour and passed by the London Eye and different kinds of bridges; One of which,of course was the London Bridge.
here goes another shot with Big Ben from the view at the cruise.
the beautiful London Eye.❤️
and if you look closely, there goes the sign that says it's the London Bridge :)
I took loads of pictures of buildings just because they are so beautiful in structure! ;D
So the tour dropped us near the Tower of London which also has a great royalty structure. We stopped over their souvenir shop and there I bought a royal card holder and a Paddington Bear keychain (I never thought he originated there).
Then for dinner,we ate at one of Gordon Ramsay's restos called Bread Kitchen. The place has a good ambiance but the food is quite pricey. They serve in small portions which cost at around 34 pounds.
Don't forget to have a desert when you get there!It is certainly,a must-try.<3 br=""> 3>
to be continued...
